About Jenifer

Hi, I’m Jenifer.

I’m the one behind the camera.  Sam is here, too, but since he’s usually working behind the scenes, I get to do all the talking.   First of all, thank you for spending some time at our blog.  We enjoy sharing our love for photography, for familes (both ours and yours), and the crazy bits of our lives.   To help you get to know me, I thought I’d mention a few things.

Who I am:

I am a mother.  I am a Bruin (Go UCLA!).  I am a clutz (watch me trip at least once during our session).  I was an elementary school teacher (I left teaching when I had my first child).  My dream growing up was to travel the world as a National Geographic photographer.  I am the mother to two crazy, wild and wonderful children (a boy and girl).  I am married to Sam and enjoy working closely with him in our photography business.  I am a natural born mess (Sam is not).  I love cookbooks and have a HUGE collection of them (sadly, there are many I have never used).  I love to talk and can be a bit chatty at times (my report cards growing up always had the comment  “Jenifer talks too much in class”).  I love being outside and crave constant change (which is why I’ve chosen the type of photography that I do).  I know that every moment we spend with our family, friends and loved ones is important, we never know how many of those moments we will have, so it is important to make the most of each one.  I view my photography as not only a business but also as a gift that I can give back to individuals and my community.

What I want/promise:

I promise to do my best to capture the magic of your child, whether it be your newborn or your high school senior.  I promise to spend time getting to know your child.  I will then tailor the session to fit your child’s personality.   I want you to be able to look at your portraits from Samaha Photography in ten years time and be immediately remember who your child was at the time we did our session.

I want you to look at the portrait and remember how he had that crooked smile, or how she used to say the funniest little saying, or how tiny your newborn’s feet were when you held them for the first time, or how excited your senior was as she prepared to head off to college.

Thanks for reading my ramblings….

Jenifer
